Priming a Timber Garage for an Easy Assembly

All of our designs are manufactured using a series of traditional jointing techniques, which allows the frames to slot neatly together when you’re building the kit. If you have some previous DIY experience, you should therefore find that our products are easily built and installed in a short amount of time.

All Douglas-fir and oak timber frame kits come with an instruction manual to help with installation, and we’re always ready to provide planning drawings on request.

Sustainably Sourced Timber

Each of our kits is made from the highest quality green oak timber, which we take from a specially designated site in France. This wood is cultivated to be as tall and straight as possible when grown, so more of it can be used in the construction process. 

We also make sure three more saplings will be planted in place of every tree used, so our work will always stay sustainable.
A Thorough Grading Process

When the wood arrives at our site, it will be meticulously checked and inspected by our team of skilled and experienced carpenters and timber graders. They’ll carefully look for any signs of flaws, faults, or weaknesses that could affect the structural integrity of an oak frame kit. If any are found, these will be responsibly recycled.
Precision Cutting

We use state-of-the-art machinery throughout our work processes, starting with scanning each piece of timber to check for tiny fractures the human eye would otherwise miss. When cutting our frames, the most suitable technology also ensures precision accuracy when every frame is made. 

Both of these practices help to rule out human error in manufacturing, so you’ll be guaranteed a perfectly strong kit that’s as easy to build as we’ve promised.

This is the industry provider for global testing, safety, and calibration. Will a Timber Frame Garage Require Planning Permission?

This is a common worry for many of our customers across the UK, though in most cases we’re happy to say that new timber or oak framed garages should not need planning permission. Most small structures and buildings are considered permitted development, and therefore don’t need permission from your local authority.

However, there may be rules and regulations in place if you’re planning on building larger, more complex designs on your property. These will likely also apply if you’re planning on building your garage close to your property’s boundary, or if you’re thinking of placing it next to a building that’s been built on designated land (e.g. a national park or an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
