Priming a Single Garage for Easy Assembly

All of our 1 bay designs are expertly primed for a quick, easy assembly that you may be able to carry out yourself if you have the right DIY and home improvement experience. This is because our timber frames are all crafted and manufactured using a series of traditional jointing techniques. These allow the parts to slot neatly together, resulting in a fast, efficient installation.

If you are carrying out the build yourself, you should find that your one bay garage kit will come with its own set of instructions. We can also make planning drawings available upon request.

The wood we use in our products is all grown on a specially designated site in France. There, the trees are cultivated to be as tall, strong, and straight as possible, so that more of the wood can be used in our work and less is wasted during the manufacturing process. Three saplings will always be planted in the place of every tree used in order to keep our work sustainable.
When the materials arrive at our site, they’ll be checked over and inspected by our team of master carpenters and timber graders. They’ll look for flaws, faults, or weaknesses in the timber that could affect the structural integrity of a one bay kit, so that only the strongest pieces are used in our work. 

If any pieces are found that cannot be used, they will be responsibly recycled.
Our work is all completed using the most efficient and effective machinery available to us, so we can rule out human error in every part of manufacturing. This ranges from scanning each timber piece to look for fractures the human eye might miss, to tools which offer precision accuracy when cutting frames.
Our work is all carried out using a process that’s been certified and approved by BM TRADA. This is the industry provider for global testing, calibration, and safety, and is considered one of the strictest (and most respected) certification panels in the UK. As such, you can always feel confident in knowing that your 1 bay garage design has been made to industry standards.

Will a Timber or Oak Framed Single Garage Need Planning Permission?

Most small, single bay wooden garage designs won’t need planning permission in the UK. This is because they are considered permitted development. However, this may change if you are planning on adding another storey to your one bay garage, as this takes the structure above the allowed height of 4 metres.
